Continuous Open Bidding (COB)

Some chapters also engage in a less formal recruitment process known Continuous Open Bidding (COB) or as Open Recruitment.

Open recruitment is held throughout the academic year beginning after primary recruitment in the fall and continuing through the fall and spring semesters.

Which chapters participate in COB?

Chapters may participate voluntarily, depending on the size and needs of the chapter. Not all chapters who participate in the fall also participate in the spring and vice versa. Some chapters may choose to host invitation-only events while others may choose to publicize their open recruitment activities. We encourage you to check out each chapter’s website and social media for information about their events, or who to contact if you are interested in joining that organization.

How do I participate in COB?

First, you must complete the online COB registration. Chapters will have access to the list of women who have completed this form. It is up to the individual chapter's discretion to contact women who have expressed interest through this form.

 

What happens at COB recruitment events?

Open recruitment events are often informal activities planned and held by each sorority. Many chapters will host dinner, coffee dates, or just hang out. This is a chance for the chapter to get to know you and for you to get to know the women in the chapter, so be yourself and have fun.
